The base material of SIMEC hammer is made of high tungsten alloyed wear-resistant material with strong compression resistance and plasticity. The tungsten carbide used on the hammer is made of spherical tungsten carbide of the international top brand American Stoody.
Based on the characteristics of ordinary tungsten carbide, this tungsten carbide improves its wear resistance and is more than three times more wear-resistant than the conventional tungsten carbide on the market. And with stronger metal stability and impact resistance, it can adapt to complex processing.
The heat treatment of SIMEC hammer is performed by a mufti-component co-infiltration heat treatment different from ordinary carburizing heat treatment, and quenching with a vacuum quenching furnace. This heat treatment combines the multi-element in the tungsten layer alloy substrate and adds a multi-component wear-resistant metal component in the high-melting process.
Through the integral osmosis & high frequency induction hardening composite heat treatment process, the tungsten layer alloy is converted into a highly efficient and high wear resistant hard alloy coating in the intermediate substrate.
Therefore, the toughness and wear resistance of the hammer are 3 to 6 times higher than that of the ordinary carburizing heat treatment hammer!

Depending on the application, hammers have either two or four wearing edges to provide maximum wear life.
Hammers should be rotated when the cutting edge is well rounded and the machine is not running at top performance.
Hammers should always be replaced in factory balanced sets.
When to Rotate or Replace?
Rotate hammers when leading edge becomes rounded.
Replace hammers when all cutting edges are rounded.
