SIMEC ring dies are processed by state-of-the-art gun drilling machines, CNC mechanical processing and vacuum heat treatment technology, which ensure the ring die with world grade quality.
1. Standard metallurgical specification for SIMEC ring dies meet high-grade, adopting high chrome steel X46Cr13, tempered to 53-55 HRC, which guarantee the high durability of ring die.
2. Ring dies are drilled with high precision gun drill for the desired smoothness of the inner surface of holes. State-of-the-art gun drilling machine offers the optimal pattern up to the feedstock and pelleting parameters.
3. The vacuum tempering furnace includes the latest technology. Ring dies tempering quality is continuously sensed on-line. This allows for on-line tempering adjustments as required resulting in superior quality ring dies and optimum operational life for specific die hole configurations.
4. SIMEC ring dies are characterised by the special distribution of the die holes in the ring. The relative position and pattern of the die holes in our ring die encourage optimum capacity of the pellet machine for a specific product and pellet size. The unique hole distribution of the SIMEC ring dies ensures longer service life, higher capacity with the same die open area, and lower power consumption per tonne of produced product.

The hardening process of ring die is the most important stage in production, because this step decides the mechanical durability. The whole hardening process of SIMEC ring die is performed solely in vacuum furnaces in nitric atmosphere. In the temperature of 1000℃ the multistage heating up is computer controlled.
Due to such a thermal process, ring dies get the perfect hardness on the molecular structure, smoothness on the whole surface and minimal distortions and will have a longer service life.
